Can't Access Hero Battles - Guild Wars Forums

I seem to be one of the many affected by the bug, mentioned here on the wiki, that makes it impossible to unlock Hero Battles without using a PvP character to unlock it first. Thing is I have ten character slots, all used, and I won't delete any of them to make a PvP character. Each of them has far too much work invested in them and I'm not going to sign any of their names into that dreaded Delete box, it's akin to killing a friend I tell you! Nor do I really want to spend $10 more on another character slot.

So, how do I unlock Hero Battles? I'm not big on PvP in general but I'd like to try this place out. Does anyone still have one of those pre-release Nightfall packs just laying around?

you shouldnt be playing PvP with a PvE character. if you want to play PvP EVER you need a PvP slot.

that solves the problem how? and i do believe a lot of people make their PvE characters PvP-ready. especially considering how much time people invest in said characters.

i just tried to get it with my pve characters and it was a no-go. fortunately, i do have an extra slot and all i had to do was just talk to the dude with a pvp character and he unlocked it for me.

anyway - have you tried joining a party with someone who has it mapped and see if you can "ferry" there too? i'd suggest trying that. and definitely contact anet support.
